Primary Elections = Real Stupid Campaigns

I love primary elections. When Republicans and Democrats bicker endlessly, and bring mudslinging to an all time high, thats one thing. But when they compete amongst each other, it truly turns into a Dog eat Dog world. Or with politicians, weasels. Imagine two rival sport teams that are used to fighting each other. This is going back to tryouts and watching each team compete against it's own teammates. But particularly, i noticed that one party is sabotaging themselves with their exceedingly extreme beliefs and agenda. Yes..these are republicans. Ever since their beloved Bush left office, and the "SocialistCommunistDictatorGodzillaMonsterObama" stepped in, the GOP hasn't just become the party of no, but as the party of No Ideals Left Behind. The Party of "Our Way or the Highway." After the election, lots of Republicans pointed the finger at McCain for not being "extreme enough and dedicated to true conservatism." This led McCain steer away from his true moderate beliefs. Here's a man who years ago fought for Cap and Trade bills to the senate and it was rumored he really wanted Independent Joe Lieberman as his running mate. Even though the only chance at a Republican victory was to throw at least a semi-moderate candidate for the people had spoken and had wanted change, and a steer clear away from republican leadership and conservative ideals. A half- Bush did not only set the GOP for an election failure, he completely displaced them altogether. After conservatism was followed by a chuckle, the movement got angry. And hardly a year into Obama's first term, they begin to stir up the grassroots like never before thanks to pundits such as Glenn Beck, Limbaugh, and Palin (see also McCain's mere pawn to raise his conservative image.) With tactics of fear, lies, and hate, the Tea Party was born. And now conservatism has been pushed to it's absolute limit. Republicans weeding out other republicans for not being republican enough? Is this a new age of McCarthyism? No, it's plain bullshit, and if the video above doesn't convince you this party is a runaway train, then i don't know what will.
